Inter Milan will propose swap deal for Granit Xhaka
Inter Milan will propose swap deal for Granit Xhaka
Inter Milan are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Granit Xhaka from Arsenal in a straight-swap deal involving Christian Eriksen.
Eriksen only joined the Nerazzurri from Tottenham Hotspur in January this year, but he has clearly fallen out-of-favour under Antonio Conte.
As such, he is expected to head for the exit door next month and reports have claimed that he could favour a return to the Premier League.
The Gunners are on the hunt for a creative midfielder and Eriksen has been mentioned as a potential transfer target for Mikel Arteta.
According to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri want around £27m for the former Ajax graduate and they are aware that the Gunners won't be able to afford.
Hence, they are willing to propose an exchange deal instead whereby Xhaka will head in the opposite direction during the winter transfer window.
Earlier this season, Xhaka found himself out of the starting lineup for a few games, but he has been re-integrated into the league plans.
Still, he has been the subject of fan criticism for his recent displays and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners consider the swap.
