Leeds United could reportedly make an attempt to sign Daniel James from Manchester United during the January transfer window.

The Welshman came close to joining the Whites from Swansea City in January 2019, but the deal broke down at the final hurdle.

James thereafter made the switch to United in the summer and he has since made more than 50 appearances for them in all competitions.

He started his debut campaign on a bright note, but dropped down the selection order during the backend with the emergence of Mason Greenwood.

He has made just three league starts this term and The Telegraph claims that Marcelo Bielsa is keen on landing the winger at the turn of the year.

James has not made the matchday squad in recent games and it is suggested that he could be surplus to requirements with the arrival of Amad Traore.

The youngster was purchased from Atalanta during the summer, but the deal has been put on hold with the player yet to receive a work permit.
