Tottenham Hotspur want to sign RB Leipzig captain
Tottenham Hotspur could make an ambitious attempt to sign RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer when the transfer window reopens.
Spurs made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign, but they have recently fallen away with back-to-back defeats.
Owing to this, they have dropped from first to sixth in the standings and are now six points behind leaders Liverpool.
According to The Mail, Jose Mourinho is keen on adding a goalscoring midfielder to his ranks and Sabitzer has emerged as the top target.
The 26-year-old's current deal expires at the end of next season and so far, Leipzig have yet to agree on terms over an extension.
While they still have time to negotiate the renewal, it is claimed that a fee of around £45m could tempt them to sanction his exit.
Should Sabitzer arrive at Spurs, there could be doubts over the future of Tanguy Ndombele, who continues to be linked with Barcelona.
