Kevin Campbell urges Arsenal to sign Championship playmaker

Campbell urges Arsenal to sign Buendia this month

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has urged the Gunners to land the signature of Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City this month.

The north London giants have recently found form with four straight wins in all competitions and three of those have come in the Premier League.

Emile Smith Rowe has excelled from the number 10 role in most of those games, but the club are still keen on landing another creative midfielder.

Buendia is one of the players, who has been heavily linked and Campbell believes the Argentine would be an ideal signing for Mikel Arteta.

"I like him. He has the qualities that Mikel Arteta is looking for. Not only can he pick a pass, he can score and he works hard. He has that energy which has been missing from the team for long periods this season," He told Football Insider.

"I think he would be a very clever signing. I know Norwich will be desperate to keep him but this is Arsenal and business is business. I am sure Buendia would want to join Arsenal, that is for sure."

The Canaries are flying high in the Championship at the moment and they are currently top of the standings with a four-point lead over second-placed Swansea City.

Manager Daniel Farke has insisted that Buendia is happy at the club and they are unlikely to sanction his sale. It may take a significant bid of around £40m from the Gunners to prise away the playmaker.

Buendia was one of the Canaries' top players in the Premier League last term with one goal and seven assists. This season, he has contributed seven goals and seven assists from 20 league games.
