Real Madrid attacker joins Arsenal on loan
Arsenal have officially confirmed the arrival of Martin Odegaard on a short-term loan from Real Madrid.
The Norway international has joined the Gunners on loan until June without the option to buy.
He is their second capture of the transfer window after the loan signing of Mat Ryan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Odegaard is capable of playing anywhere in the attack, but he has generally excelled from the number 10 position.
Emile Smith Rowe has established himself in the role over the past month with three assists alongside one goal.
Odegaard's arrival could limit the playing time for Smith Rowe going forward.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are still in the transfer market and are looking to sign a left-back.
Southampton's Ryan Bertrand and Marseille's Jordan Amavi have been reported as potential targets.
Arsenal are currently one of the in-form teams in the Premier League with 16 points from the previous six games.
They are presently eighth in the standings with 30 points, five adrift of the Champions League spots.
