Arsenal defender has avoided long-term injury
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has avoided a potential long-term injury and should return to the playing field in the coming weeks.
The Scotland international has not featured for the Gunners in the last five games in all competitions and that has hampered the club's performances.
Tierney has impressed with his overlapping runs and early crosses into the box and in his absence, the Gunners have lacked the same threat from the left side.
Cedric Soares has done a decent job as the makeshift left-back, but he has been unable to make the same impact in an attacking point of view.
According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Tierney recently had a scan on his lower leg and the results have been quite positive.
The 23-year-old has not suffered any tear and his absence has more to do with fatigue after his regular run of games.
Tierney may not feature against Leeds United this weekend, but could make his comeback for the Europa League round of 32 first leg at Benfica.
