Real Madrid open to Odegaard sale

Real Madrid are reportedly open to the permanent sale of Martin Odegaard, who is currently on loan with Arsenal.

The Norwegian had an impressive season on loan with Real Sociedad last term where he bagged seven goals and nine assists from 36 games.

Despite this, he was not able to establish himself under Zinedine Zidane this season and played only 372 minutes before joining the Gunners last month.

According to Don Balon, the Spanish champions may consider the permanent departure of Odegaard as he is not in the plans of Zidane.

Odegaard recently hinted that he may be open to joining the Gunners for the long-term but he is unlikely to come on the cheap this summer.

Los Blancos are likely to demand at least £52m for the attacker, who made his maiden start for the Gunners against Leeds United last weekend.

Odegaard is set to feature for the Gunners on Thursday night when they face Benfica in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32.
