Newcastle United make Daniel Sturridge transfer decision
Newcastle United have no plans of signing former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge on a free transfer.
Sturridge has been a free-agent since his release from Trabzonspor in March 2020 and he has yet to find another club.
A recent report from 90min stated that the Magpies may consider signing Sturridge on a short-term deal after the injury setback for Callum Wilson.
However, that claim has been dismissed by Football Insider, who insist that the Magpies have no desire to sign the 31-year-old.
The club are currently seven points ahead of the drop zone but have played one game more than 18th-placed Fulham.
They recently suffered a big blow with Wilson ruled out for around six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
The striker has been hugely important to them and has directly contributed to 15 of their 25 league goals scored this term.
In his long absence, the Magpies need someone else to step up and deliver regular goals or they could find themselves in danger of relegation.
