Van de Beek, Cavani out with muscle injuries

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed a double injury blow ahead of the Europa League meeting against Real Sociedad.

The Red Devils have been inconsistent with their performances over the past month and they have won just two of the previous six matches.

They are scheduled to face Sociedad in the Europa League round of 32 first leg on Thursday and ahead of the game, they are missing some key players.

Paul Pogba is obviously out injured with a thigh problem and Solskjaer confirmed that he won't return to action until March at least.

Elsewhere, Edinson Cavani and Donny van de Beek have suffered fresh muscle injuries and have been ruled out of the encounter.

Meanwhile, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay are doubtful with knocks and will require late fitness tests.

United have a horrendous recent record against La Liga opposition and have failed to win in the previous nine occasions.

They will be aiming to put the dreadful record behind them by beating Sociedad at the Juventus Stadium tomorrow.
