Manchester United midfield trio unavailable to face West Ham

Juan Mata news

Solskjaer provides injury update ahead of West Ham clash

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Donny van de Beek won't be available to face West Ham United on Sunday.

The trio have been nursing short-term injuries and Solskjaer has ruled out their chances of returning against the Hammers.

However, he was optimistic that one of them could be available before the international break.

"No I don’t think any of those will be available. We hope maybe before the international break. Maybe, but I’m not sure," he told Manutd.com.

"It is taking a little bit longer than we expected but we have three games now and then the international break and after that they will all be available for us."

The Red Devils are currently six points ahead of fifth-placed West Ham United, though the east London side have a game in hand.

They have the chance to pick up a victory and further strengthen their prospects of finishing in the Champions League places.

Aside from the above-mentioned trio, Edinson Cavani (calf) has been ruled out for tomorrow's game alongside Phil Jones (fitness).

Anthony Martial (hip) and Marcus Rashford (ankle) are deemed doubtful to face David Moyes' side, who make the trip to Old Trafford.
