Giroud wanted by AS Roma

Roma have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud regarding a summer move.

Giroud has netted 11 goals in 24 outings for the Blues this term, but he has largely been in-and-out of the starting XI.

His current deal expires at the end of June, and he is free to negotiate a pre-contract with an overseas club.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma director Pinto recently met with Giroud's entourage to discuss the striker's future.

Giroud has yet to negotiate a new deal with the Blues, but the suggestions are that he could pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.

The west London giants suffered a shock 5-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League earlier today.

Giroud was an unused substitute as the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz were preferred ahead of him from the bench.

He could return to the line-up when the Blues face Porto in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.
