Arsenal suffer fresh injury blow ahead of Liverpool game
Arsenal have confirmed a fresh injury blow ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool at home on Saturday night.
The Gunners are currently assessing the fitness of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe and they are doubtful to face the Reds.
Alongside the duo, Granit Xhaka could miss the game as he was absent for the team training session on Friday due to an illness.
The club have now confirmed that David Luiz will play no part against Jurgen Klopp's side as he is nursing a knee injury.
His absence is definitely a big blow for the north London giants, given he has been a solid performer over the past few months.
He produced a standout showing in the 2-1 win over the Reds at the Emirates last term, and the Gunners will have to do without him.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has resisted the prospect of playing two left-footed centre-back in Gabriel and Pablo Mari together.
Either Calum Chambers or Rob Holding could replace Luiz at the heart of the defence.
