Chelsea favourites to sign outgoing Manchester City star

Chelsea are reportedly ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine will leave the Cityzens when his contract expires in June, and he could remain in the Premier League.

Aguero has the preference to join a London-based club, and he has been linked with both Chelsea and Spurs lately.

According to TyC Sports, the Blues are leading the hunt to sign the 32-year-old, who is eager to climb up the league's scoring charts.

Aguero won't make a decision over his future until the end of the season, but the Blues have held tentative talks with his agent.

Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly given the go-ahead for Aguero to join either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Aguero has had a tough season due to injuries, coronavirus and competition for places, and he has scored just three goals from 15 games.

Still, he is one of the best in the business when in form, and the Blues are reportedly keen on pursuing his signature this summer.
