Everton could go head-to-head with Manchester United in the race to sign Max Aarons from Norwich City this summer.

The 21-year-old has had a fine season in the Championship, registering one goal and four assists from 40 appearances.

United are known to be admirers of the right-back, but The Times claims that they could face competition from the Toffees.

However, the Merseyside giants face a potential stumbling block over the price tag with the Canaries said to demand around £30m.

Aside from United and Everton, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been credited with an interest in Aarons in the past.

He has also been on the radar of Arsenal, although they appear to have shifted their attention towards Inter Milan's Achraf Hakimi.

The Canaries are currently cruising at the top of the Championship with 90 points but mathematically, they are yet to be promoted.

They need a solitary point from the next five matches to secure promotion to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
