Mikel Arteta to hand chance to William Saliba?
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is prepared to integrate William Saliba into the first-team squad following his loan stint with Nice.
The Frenchman joined the Gunners from Saint-Etienne in 2019, but he was loaned back to the Ligue 1 side as part of the agreement.
On his return, Saliba failed to make a single competitive appearance for the Gunners, and he was loaned out to Nice in January.
Saliba has made a huge impression during his time with Nice, and Football.London claims that he may get his opportunity next term.
Furthermore, Saliba's return could reportedly pave the way for the departure of David Luiz, whose contract expires during the summer.
The former Chelsea man is currently out with a knee injury, and the Gunners are assessing whether the defender should be handed an extension beyond June.
The 33-year-old is likely to return to action before the end of the season, and his performances may determine whether he warrants a renewal.
