West Ham United interested in Arsenal striker

Eddie Nketiah news

West Ham want Eddie Nketiah?

West Ham United will reportedly attempt to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah during the summer transfer window.

The forward was in-and-out of the starting line-up during the first half of the season, but he has barely played this year.

Alexandre Lacazette has become the undisputed choice upfront. Nketiah has played just 11 minutes of league football since January.

According to Standard Sport, the 21-year-old has 14 months left on his contract, and he is likely to leave the club this summer.

The Gunners recently convinced Folarin Balogun to sign a new deal, and the youngster has been tipped to replace Nketiah.

Meanwhile, Nketiah has been on the radar of the Hammers for a while, and they are said to be considering a summer approach.

However, he is not their first-choice target. They are expected to make a fresh bid for Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri after a failed January move.

The Hammers sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January, but could not land a replacement. Michail Antonio is the other senior striker in the squad.
