Tottenham Hotspur to sign German defender on a free transfer?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning a contract offer for Jerome Boateng, who will leave Bayern Munich this summer.
The German has been with the Bavarian giants for a decade, but the hierarchy recently confirmed that his contract won't be renewed beyond June.
Boateng has been linked with a return to the Premier League for a number of years, and Sky Germany claims that Spurs are keen on landing him.
The north London giants have already held talks with the player's entourage for many weeks, and are aiming to win the race for his services.
Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked with the 2014 World Cup winner, who has made more than 350 appearances for Bayern.
Alongside Boateng, his central defensive partner David Alaba will also leave the club when his contract expires in a couple of months' time.
Bayern recently bowed out of their Champions League title defence after losing to Paris Saint-Germain on away goals in the quarter-final.
