Arsenal to compete with Manchester City for Italian midfielder?
Arsenal could compete with Manchester City in the race to sign Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo.
The Gunners are likely to rebuild the squad this summer, and there could be changes across all departments.
According to Goal.com, a defensive midfielder could be a priority for the Gunners, and Locatelli is an option for them.
The 23-year-old has also been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Juventus over the past few months.
The Cityzens consider the Italian as a potential replacement for Fernandinho, whose contract expires on June 30.
The Bianconeri are looking to part ways with Adrien Rabiot to free up a spot for Locatelli, who was previously with AC Milan.
Aside from Locatelli, the Gunners are also looking at Yves Bissouma and Guido Rodriguez to bolster the holding midfield role.
They have already made contact with Bissouma's agent, but face stiff competition from Leicester City for his signature.
The Foxes are aiming to lure Bissouma with the prospect of playing in the Champions League next season.
