Arsenal to miss out on Odegaard?

Arsenal could reportedly miss out on signing Martin Odegaard on a permanent deal from Real Madrid this summer.

The Norwegian joined the Gunners on loan in January, and he has been a solid addition with two goals from 14 appearances.

The Gunners are open to landing the playmaker on a long-term deal, but Bild claims that they may not afford him.

Odegaard was valued at £30m in January, but his price tag could reportedly rise to £50m amid his recent displays.

In such a case, it is claimed that a deal would be expensive for the Gunners, and they may look elsewhere for a creative player.

Real Betis' Nabil Fekir, Borussia Dortmund's Julian Brandt and Norwich City's Emiliano Buendia are on their radar.

Brandt could be available for just £22m this summer, with Dortmund looking to balance their books amid financial losses due to Covid.

The German was heavily linked with the north London giants in January before they recruited Odegaard on a short-term deal.
