Arsenal to sack Mikel Arteta this week?
Arsenal could reportedly consider the sacking of manager Mikel Arteta, if he fails to guide them to Europa League glory.
The Gunners have already missed out on the top four in the Premier League, and they are currently seven points behind the European places.
With just four games left, they are unlikely to recover the deficit, and their focus could entirely lie on their Europa League campaign.
The Gunners will secure a berth in next season's Champions League group stage, if they go on to win the Europa League final.
That is far from straightforward, however, as they must first cross the hurdle of Villarreal in the last four of the competition.
The club are trailing 2-1 after the first leg on the road. They must score at least once at the Emirates Stadium to overturn the deficit.
The failure to beat the Spanish outfit could pave the way for Arteta's dismissal. Maurizio Sarri has emerged as a potential successor.
