Arsenal close to landing Argentine midfielder?
Arsenal are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Real Betis to sign midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
The Argentine has been a regular in the defensive midfield role for Betis this term, starting ahead of William Carvalho.
His progress has caught the eye of the Gunners, and Estadio Deportivo claims that they are close to landing his signature.
Rodriguez's current contract has a release clause worth £69m, but the Gunners could prise him away for a much lesser fee.
Betis have been financially hit amid the coronavirus pandemic, and they could accept a fee of around £43m for Rodriguez.
The Gunners are expected to spend big this summer after back-to-back disappointing seasons in the Premier League.
They have already missed out on the top four, and winning the Europa League remains their sole route to Champions League football.
Mikel Arteta's side could bring in more than one midfielder this summer, and have also been linked with Brighton's Yves Bissouma.
Bissouma, who is also on Liverpool's radar, could be available for £30m.
