Arsenal defender planning summer exit
Arsenal defender David Luiz is reportedly evaluating his options with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The Brazilian has been a regular starter for the Gunners, but he has recently been sidelined with multiple injuries.
His current contract with the club concludes in June, and the hierarchy are yet to open negotiations over a new deal.
According to Football.London, the Gunners board have second thoughts over handing a new one-year contract to Luiz.
The club have been impressed with William Saliba's progress on loan at Nice, and the youngster could break into their plans.
Luiz is on the radar of several Major League Soccer clubs, but his £120,000-a-week salary could put them off from offering a contract.
He has previously talked about the prospect of returning to Benfica. He would have take a significant pay-cut to join them as well.
Luiz recently suffered a hamstring injury against Newcastle United and it is unclear whether he will face Villarreal tomorrow.
