Arsenal still leading the race to sign Yves Bissouma
Arsenal continue to lead the race for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma despite the fresh interest from Manchester City.
A recent report from The Star claimed that the Cityzens had joined the race for Bissouma, and manager Pep Guardiola is confident of landing him.
However, according to The Express, that does not appear the case, and the Gunners are still favourites to sign the 24-year-old.
The north London giants are eyeing a new defensive midfielder with Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey yet to impress consistently.
Bissouma has shown his quality in the Premier League, and has made the second-most number of tackles this season.
Brighton bought him for around £15 million from Lille, and they are prepared to sell him for double the figure this summer.
Leicester City and West Ham United have also been linked with Bissouma, but the Gunners are apparently leading the hunt.
Bissouma is a boyhood Gunners fan, and he could join them despite their prospect of missing out on European football.
