Koulibaly back on United radar

Manchester United are interested in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly during this summer's transfer window.

The centre-back has been linked with a Premier League move on numerous occasions, but the price tag has proved the stumbling block.

However, he could be sold on the cheap this summer after Napoli failed to qualify for the Champions League for a second year running.

According to Gazzetta.it, the Naples outfit are prepared to sell him for £45m, which is significantly less than the £80m price tag last summer.

United are long-term admirers of the Senegal international, and they are reportedly planning a fresh approach for his services.

They were previously interested in Koulibaly in 2018. They made a club-record offer of around £95m which was rejected.

Napoli need to lower their wage bill amid their financial concerns due to Covid-19. Koulibaly being the highest earner could be offloaded first.

Manchester City were keen on landing his signature last summer. They appear unlikely to make a fresh move after the success of Ruben Dias.
