Chelsea defender emerges as fresh target for Serie A giants
Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has emerged as the fresh target for Inter Milan during this summer's transfer window.
The Blues currently have Alonso, Ben Chilwell and Emerson, who can operate in the left wing-back position.
Emerson has been heavily linked with an exit, and it has recently been reported that he could make the switch to Inter.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport, it is claimed that the Nerazzurri are interested in signing Alonso instead.
Emerson was considered the prime defensive target for head coach Antonio Conte, but he is no longer at the helm.
New boss Simone Inzaghi has his sights on Alonso, who is well-versed to playing in the left wing-back role over Emerson.
Alonso has two years remaining on his contract with the Blues unlike Emerson, whose deal expires at the end of next season.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues will listen to offers for Alonso, who has regularly shared the game time with Chilwell.
