Manchester United in for Atletico Madrid star?
Manchester United have been handed a boost in signing Saul Niguez with Atletico Madrid on the cusp of signing a replacement.
Saul was in-and-out of the starting line-up last term, and he is no longer indispensable to the Spanish champions.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico are on the verge of confirming the signing of Rodrigo De Paul for around €35 million.
This would pave the way for Saul to leave the club. Manchester United are long-term admirers of the Spain international.
He still won't come on the cheap with interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain alongside United.
Atletico want around €80m for the 26-year-old, who still has five years remaining on his contract with the club.
United are searching for a quality defensive midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether they will meet the valuation.
The Red Devils have also been linked with West Ham United's Declan Rice, but he is valued at a staggering €110m.
