Leicester City win the race for Patson Daka?
Leicester City have reportedly beaten Chelsea and Liverpool to the signing of Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
The Zambia international had a superb 2020/21 campaign for Salzburg, bagging 34 goals and 12 assists from just 42 games.
He has been touted for a big-club move this summer, and Fabrizio Romano claims that the Foxes are on the cusp of landing him.
The Midlands outfit were recently fancied to sign Celtic's Odsonne Edouard, but they have turned their focus towards Daka.
Daka could be available for just £17.5 million due to a release clause on his contract. He has been convinced to join with assured game time.
Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho featured regularly during the backend of last season, and the latter was the standout performer.
However, there are doubts whether the Nigerian can keep up his form next term while Vardy is no longer in the prime of his career.
The 22-year-old is expected to be guaranteed a regular starting role in the Premier League with the switch to the King Power Stadium.
