Aston Villa could break transfer record for Chelsea star
Aston Villa could break their transfer record to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.
The England international had a difficult 2020/21 season, and barely featured after Thomas Tuchel became manager in January.
He played just 16 minutes of first-team football between March and May. Despite this, he was their joint top-scorer with 12 goals.
According to The Telegraph, Abraham could be shown the exit door this summer as he is not in the plans of Tuchel.
The Blues want £40 million for their graduate, and it is claimed that the Villains are prepared to meet the price.
The Midlands outfit recently landed Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City after breaking their transfer record.
They could eclipse the feat once more for Abraham, who netted 29 goals for them on loan during the 2018/19 season.
West Ham United have also been linked with the Blues star, but they are unlikely to meet the transfer demands.
David Moyes' side are searching for a new striker. They could focus on landing Celtic's Odsonne Edouard valued at £15m.
