Crystal Palace set to appoint Vieira as new manager
Former Arsenal star, Patrick Vieira is set to become the new manager at Crystal Palace, according to The Telegraph.
The talks between the club and the manager progressed well, and he is excepting to sign a three-year contract.
The Frenchman, who captained Arsenal during their title-winning season in 2004, was sacked by OGC Nice in December last year following five straight defeats.
Vieira, who also has 107 caps for France, started his managerial career in the MLS with New York City where he finished second in 2017. Last season, Vieira, who also played for Manchester City, was linked with several clubs from England.
Palace are heading into a ninth straight season in the Premier League. They had four successful seasons under veteran manager Roy Hodgson, who decided to step down at the end of last season.
Before Vieira, the team from London also had talks with Nuno Espirito Santo, who managed Wolverhampton Wanderers in the past four seasons, and Lucien Favre, the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
The names of Frank Lampard and Valerian Ismael were also mentioned in contention for the job at Selhurst Park.
