Arsenal keen on signing West Bromwich Albion star?

Johnstone to Arsenal?

Arsenal could reportedly make an approach for West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone this summer.

The Gunners want to provide competition to Bernd Leno for the number one role, and they have the preference to sign a homegrown goalkeeper.

It was recently claimed that Sheffield United's Aaron Ramsdale was the prime target, but it appears that they could be priced out of a move.

Sheffield value Ramsdale at more than £25m, and they are reluctant to lower their valuation despite being relegated from the top-flight.

According to The Sun, the Gunners could turn their attention to compatriot Johnstone, who has entered the final year of his contract.

The Baggies are open to sanctioning his sale this summer. They value him at £20m, but could be available for less due to his contract status.

Johnstone has been attracting plenty of interest over the past couple of months. He is also on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.

He could secure a fresh move after the European Championships.
