Leicester City are leading the race to sign Ozan Kabak, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Liverpool.

The Schalke centre-back impressed for the Reds earlier this year, but they decided against triggering the buy option.

According to Sport1, the 21-year-old could still be sold this summer as he is reluctant to play in the Bundesliga 2 next season.

Schalke are looking for around £12m, but so far, they have not received any official bids to sign the Turkey international.

Leicester City are reportedly keen on signing him as they need additional defensive cover after Wes Morgan's retirement.

They are also looking at him as a long-term replacement for Jonny Evans, and it remains to be seen if they meet the price.

Schalke have given Kabak one week's time to sort out his future. Otherwise, he could be playing for them next season.

Schalke were recently relegated from the German top-flight after three decades. They are favourites to get promoted.
