Chelsea striker secures move to Serie A giants
Chelsea have confirmed that Olivier Giroud has made the move to the Serie A with AC Milan.
The Frenchman netted 11 goals last season, but he was largely on the bench during the final months of the campaign.
This hampered his playing time with the national team, and he has made the wise decision to move on this summer.
He underwent a medical with the Rossoneri earlier yesterday, and he has now put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.
Giroud was earning £110,000-a-week with the Blues. He has accepted a 50 per cent pay-cut to join the Serie A giants.
He will be competing with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic for the centre-forward position next term.
Ibrahimovic, who is almost 40, netted 19 goals last season, but he missed part of the campaign with a string of injuries.
Giroud could act as a like-for-like replacement for the Sweden international whose game time could be limited next season.
