Chelsea to consider move for Southampton man?

Chelsea could make an approach for Southampton striker Danny Ings if they are unable to land any of their top targets.

The Blues are keen on signing a world-class striker this summer, and they have been linked with multiple names.

Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane are among the targets, but the former has stated that he is happy to continue at Inter.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to entertain the prospect of selling Kane to their fierce London rivals.

Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland is another option for the Blues, but he could cost a staggering fee of £150 million.

According to The Athletic, the Blues have a contingency plan in place in case they can't land their prime striker targets.

Ings would be a player under consideration even though he turns 29 this week.

The Englishman has an impressive record for the Saints, registering 46 goals and 10 assists from 100 appearances.

He has also been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Manchester United this summer.

With under 12 months left on his contract, the Saints could be prepared to sell him for around £20m in the coming weeks.
