Manchester United are braced for the departure of Paul Pogba during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils are currently on the cusp of signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid. They have agreed to pay an initial £34m.

According to ESPN, the club will need to recoup funds from player sales before they can make more signings this summer.

They have already spent £73m on Jadon Sancho. The arrival of Varane would take their overall summer spending to £107m.

That would exceed their pre-sales budget of £100m. Hence, they are braced for player exits including Pogba, who has rejected a new deal.

Pogba has been tipped to join Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks. United are expected to demand a fee of around £50m.

They valued him at £100m last summer, but are now prepared to accept a cut-price deal with his contract expiring in June 2022.

Aside from Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Axel Tuanzebe are among the players likely to head through the exit door in the coming weeks.
