Manchester United to swoop for £35m midfielder?
Manchester United are reportedly making progress in their pursuit of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.
The Portuguese has been with the Midlands outfit for the past four seasons, but he is free to leave the club for £35m this summer.
Wolves have already made quality summer signings, and they are likely to balance their books through the sale of Neves.
According to Eurosport's Dean Jones, United are making inroads towards a potential transfer for the 24-year-old midfielder.
The club need to recoup funds from player sales first. Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard could head for the exit door in the coming weeks.
Pogba has turned down a new contract beyond June 2022. He is currently on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, who could pay £43m.
Lingard may drop down the pecking order once more despite a hugely productive loan spell at West Ham United this year.
The Hammers are eager to re-sign him. He is valued at £25m. United are also keen on landing Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier this summer.
