Manchester United defender Brandon Williams is keen on leaving the club on loan despite the injury to Alex Telles.

The 20-year-old is a right-back by trade, but he has largely played on the left side of the defence for the Red Devils.

Williams was touted to leave on loan last month, but the speculation cooled after an untimely ankle injury for Telles.

Telles, who has been the back-up to Luke Shaw, has been ruled out for at least four weeks after the setback in training.

According to Manchester Evening News, Williams is desperate to leave on loan with interest from Southampton and Bayer Leverkusen.

The Saints attempted to sign him in January this year. They also failed with an approach during last summer's transfer window.

Aside from Williams, Diogo Dalot can also provide cover at left-back, but he has been fancied to rejoin AC Milan on loan.

It remains to be seen whether United are prepared to fulfil the wish of Williams. It appears unlikely at the moment.
