Manchester United are set to start the new season with midfielder Paul Pogba, ESPN reports.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a summer exit after turning down a new contract beyond June 2022.

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing him, but they need to recoup funds from sales before making an offer.

According to ESPN, United will assess Pogba's position on a daily basis. He will be with them for the start of the season.

However, things could change before the transfer deadline. Les Parisiens have been fancied to make a formal transfer bid.

United value Pogba at around £50m, but Les Parisiens believe they can prise him away for a much lesser fee this month.

Juventus have also emerged as potential contenders. The Bianconeri are said to be eager to bring Pogba back to Turin.

Pogba previously spent four seasons at the Bianconeri between 2012 and 2016 before he returned to Old Trafford.

He recently returned to United training after his Euro 2020 exploits.
