Arsenal set to sign 23-year-old goalkeeper
Arsenal are set to land the signature of Aaron Ramsdale from Championship outfit Sheffield United.
The Gunners have been desperate to land a new shot-stopper this summer in order to provide cover and competition to Bernd Leno.
Ramsdale was identified as their prime transfer target, and they have now finalised a transfer agreement with the Blades.
The Gunners are expected to pay £24m up front with a further £6m in add-ons when he becomes a regular starter for them.
The fee is significantly lesser than the initial £40m price tag set by the Blades.
The 23-year-old has been granted permission to complete the formalities, and he could make the bench against Chelsea on Sunday.
Aside from Ramsdale, the Gunners have also wrapped up a deal to re-sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid permanently.
Odegaard has already undergone his medical at London Colney. The Norwegian's transfer could be announced in the next 24 hours.
The Gunners have already spent £130m on new signings this summer, but there could be more activity before the transfer deadline.
They are reportedly eyeing a new right-back and striker. The two deals may largely depend on them recouping funds from player sales.
