Juventus could make a surprise move for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.

Ronaldo has made the sensational return to Manchester United after 11 seasons, and the Bianconeri are likely to pursue a replacement.

They have their sights on Paris Saint-Germain's Mauri Icardi and Aubameyang. The latter appears the more viable transfer option.

Mikel Arteta recently insisted that Aubameyang is a key player, and he won't be heading elsewhere before this month's transfer deadline.

However, it has been reported that the club's hierarchy are open to sanctioning his sale due to his hefty £250,000-a-week wages.

The Bianconeri will propose to sign him, as per Tuttomercatoweb, but they are reluctant to pay more than €20m for his services.

Arsenal have been fancied to sign a new striker for a while. The departure of Aubameyang could pave the way for a late signing.

As things stand, it appears unlikely that he will head for the exit door, but nothing can be ruled out in what has been a fascinating summer.
