Arsenal defender Bellerin to join Real Betis
Arsenal's defender Hector Bellerin is set for a transfer deadline day move to Spanish side Real Betis on a season-long loan deal, with a view to a permanent transfer. Bellerin has been told that he is free to leave the Emirates.
It is understood that Bellerin has even agreed to take a paycut to make the move back to his homeland of Spain, after being informed by manager Mikel Arteta that he is unlikely to play this season on a regular basis.
The 26-year-old, who arrived at Arsenal 10 years ago as a youth player from FC Barcelona, has found his first-team opportunities become increasingly limited and is now hopeful that at Betis he will be able to boost his international opportunities. Last season, Bellerin appeared in 25 games in the Premier League, whilst injuries have sidelined the player in recent years.
It is understood that Arsenal will be willing to part company with Bellerin next summer for a fee of around £15 million.
French side Marseille were also reportedly monitoring Bellerin's transfer situation.
