Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has snubbed a new contract, according to ESPN.

The England international was out-of-favour with the Red Devils during the first half of last season.

He made the switch to West Ham United on loan in January which proved a blessing in disguise for him.

Lingard excelled under manager David Moyes, bagging nine goals and six assists from 16 appearances.

The 28-year-old was thereafter fancied to rejoin the club permanently, but he opted to stay put at United.

Lingard currently has 10 months left on his deal, and it is reported that the club have offered him fresh terms.

However, he has snubbed the proposal. He wants the assurance of regular game time before signing a new deal.

Lingard may assess his playing time in the coming months before deciding whether to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

He has made the matchday squad for two league games this term, but has played only four minutes off the bench.
