Paris Saint-Germain to swoop for Chelsea centre-back?

Antonio Rudiger news

Rudiger to PSG next summer?

Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as strong candidates to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer.

The Germany international has just 10 months remaining on his Blues contract, and he has yet to agree an extension.

The Blues are in negotiations with them, but there has been no breakthrough due to the difference in the salary package.

Rudiger is currently on £135,000-a-week. He is reportedly eyeing around £200,000-a-week to prolong his stay.

However, the club's hierarchy are reluctant to offer him more than £160,000-a-week to commit to a new long-term contract.

This could possibly pave the way for his exit. Rudiger is free to negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.

Les Parisiens have the financial muscle to meet his demands, and can be deemed favourites to sign him on a Bosman deal.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the centre-back, who has 46 caps for Germany.

Rudiger has been an almost ever-present figure for the west London giants since Thomas Tuchel became manager in January.
