Alexandre Lacazette edging towards Arsenal exit

Alexandre Lacazette news

Arsenal tried to sign Abraham to replace Lacazette

Arsenal are expected to lose Alexandre Lacazette when his contract expires next summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Frenchman was linked with a possible exit this summer, but the Gunners did not receive any suitable offers.

According to Romano, the Gunners were keen on landing Tammy Abraham as a replacement for the 30-year-old.

They tried to offload Lacazette first, but their failure to do so contributed to Abraham's permanent move to Roma.

They are now expected to keep Lacazette for the rest of the season, and could see him leave for free next summer.

The Gunners don't have any high-profile striker targets at the moment.

They were linked with Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez, but the Argentine is now close to signing a long-term contract.

Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic has also been on their radar, but he won't come cheaply in the future with the vast interest.

Arsenal registered their first points of the new Premier League season on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Norwich City.
