Mikel Arteta provides fresh update on Alexandre Lacazette's future
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh update on Alexandre Lacazette's future ahead of the north London derby.
The Frenchman made his first start of the campaign in midweek. He bagged a goal and an assist against AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup.
It is uncertain whether he will make the line-up against Tottenham Hotspur. Ahead of the game, Arteta was asked about the striker's future.
Lacazette's current deal with the club expires in nine months' time. There has been speculation that he could leave on a free transfer.
Arteta has been regularly supportive of Lacazette, and said that everything can happen from now until the end of the campaign.
He said: "We discuss that internally and we discuss that with him. It's a long season ahead of us, everything can happen, everything is open."
The Gunners have won back-to-back games in the Premier League after initially losing three matches to start the new campaign.
They can go level on points with Spurs with another victory this weekend.
