Timo Werner news

Werner linked with Bundesliga return

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on the situation of Chelsea forward Timo Werner.

The German has struggled for consistency since joining the Blues last summer, and this has led to speculation over his future.

According to The Daily Star, both Bayern and Dortmund are tracking his position with a view to potential future transfer.

Bayern were heavily interested in Werner when he was at Leipzig, but the Blues beat them to his signature last year.

Werner has since netted only 14 goals across all competitions, but he has been handy in terms of chance creation for others.

The 25-year-old  has bagged 16 assists during this period. He has recently returned to the starting plans of Thomas Tuchel.

Werner struggled in the recent clash against Manchester City, but redeemed himself by netting in the 3-1 win over Southampton.

It was his first goal of the Premier League campaign. This should boost his chances of cementing a regular starting role.

The forward is currently content with his position, but may assess his options next summer based on his playing time.
