Ndombele to Barcelona in January?

Barcelona are reportedly interested in landing the signature of Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Ronald Koeman was keen on signing a new central midfielder this summer, but the club failed to pursue any of their targets.

Georginio Wijnaldum was the prime option for the club, but he made a surprise U-turn to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

According to Sport, the Catalan giants were also interested in Ndombele, but they were put off by the €60 million valuation.

They are prepared to try again for him at the turn of the year, but are likely to propose a loan deal with a future option to buy.

Spurs actively looked to offload Ndombele during the summer. They tried to offer him in a swap deal for Juventus' Weston McKennie.

Ndombele played regularly for Spurs after the last international break, but there is still speculation that he could leave soon.

He is one of the highest earners at £200,000-a-week. Spurs are keen to get him off their wage bill amid his limited impact.
