Arsenal duo Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mohamed Elneny are considering potential exits during the winter transfer window.

The duo have played limited first-team football this term, and there has been much speculation over their respective futures.

According to The Sun, the pair are likely to consider departures in the New Year, but the chances of them living are pretty slim.

Elneny will be off for African Cup of Nations in January alongside Partey, leaving Lokonga and Maitland-Niles as midfield options.

Granit Xhaka is predicted to return from a knee injury in January, but he could be eased into action which could take a few weeks.

The Gunners don't have any plans of pursuing another midfielder in January. Elneny and Maitland-Niles may have to stay until next summer.

Elneny will be free to sign a pre-contract with an overseas club from January as his current contract expires at the end of the campaign.

He was the subject of interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray last month, but the Gunners were adamant that he was not for sale.
