Liverpool to swoop for Manchester City striker target?
Liverpool have joined Manchester City in the race to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic during the winter transfer window.
The Serbian has been fancied to leave La Viola in January, having declined to sign a new contract beyond June 2023.
Manchester City are weighing up an approach for the marksman, but Corriere dello Sport claims that the Reds are also keen.
The Merseyside outfit are reportedly eyeing a pure centre-forward, and they are increasingly interested in landing the 21-year-old.
Vlahovic was valued at €70m during the recent transfer window. Atletico Madrid tried to sign him but looked elsewhere.
The La Liga giants were willing to offer around €55m, but Fiorentina were adamant that he won't be sold for a negotiated fee.
They may hold for a similar sum in January. Meanwhile, Liverpool are widely expected to sell Divock Origi this winter.
That would leave them with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino as striker options, but neither are traditional centre-forwards.
Vlahovic with his aerial presence would bring something different at the club. They have lacked a target man in the box.
