Liverpool handed boost in signing Portuguese midfielder
Liverpool have been handed a boost in signing Lille midfielder Renato Sanches next year.
The Reds were interested in the Portugal international this summer, but decided against a possible approach.
They are still interested in the 24-year-old midfielder, and could return for his services at the turn of the year.
The club have now received a boost in the pursuit with Lille's president confirming that Renato will leave soon.
The French outfit are suffering losses due to the coronavirus pandemic. They are open to selling him for the right price.
"I have already spoken about it," Olivier Letang told BFM Lille.
"I have already discussed with him, if an offer from a big club arrives, Renato will be able to leave. We will see what will happen."
Sanches will enter the final year of his contract next summer, and he could leave Lille as early as January.
The Reds did not fill the void after Georginio Wijnaldum's exit, and may look to land Rennes this winter.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Euro 2016 winner, and could make a transfer approach of their own.
