Everton eyeing January deal for Manchester United attacker
Everton are planning to make a January move to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard, according to The Mirror.
The England international has entered the final nine months of his contract, and he has yet to pen an extension at the club.
He has no plans of doing so without the assurance of regular game time, and it appears likely that he may leave United soon.
The club are prepared to cash in on his services in January. It is reported that the Toffees have entered the transfer pursuit.
Lingard had a brilliant loan spell at West Ham United earlier this year, bagging nine goals and five assists from 16 games.
The Hammers are still keen on re-signing him, but there could be plenty of competition from elite clubs across Europe.
While the Toffees are readying an offer, it is reported that Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also planning surprise talks.
The duo prefer to sign him on a pre-contract instead of pursuing his signature midway through the season for a transfer fee.
